Happy St. Patricks Day!

A fun week celebrating St. Patrick's Day! Students enjoyed making their leprechaun catchers with their grade 7 buddies! They were very creative! I saw rainbows out of pipe cleaners, stairs made out of popsicle sticks and glue piles to try and get the leprechauns to get "stuck" in their boxes!  The bread lady came to our class on Thursday! Special thank you to the 3 parents for joining us! I hope everyone enjoyed the loaf of bread that each student brought home! This was a hands on morning  where students were able to mix and stir the ingredients, and put their loaf of bread in the oven!  On Friday morning, the students came in to see that the leprechaun had visited our classroom. Some were disappointed to open their traps and see NO leprechaun, but most were pretty excited to see a special green coin and a gold chocolate coin from the leprechaun!  Our hallway bulletin board listing all th...

Lent

The season of Lent has begun and we had a faith filled week at school.  On shrove Tuesday students enjoyed face to face ministries!! They enjoyed the music, the dancing and the message was important. Let’s look for Jesus on purpose.  It was very dark in the gym, so these are the best pictures I could get. On Wednesday we celebrated Ash Wednesday as a school community. We listened to Father JoJo’s homily about Lent is a time to do better, make a change, Pray more, or give something up. Ash  Wednesday derives its name from the placing of repentance  ashes  on the  foreheads  of participants to either the words "Repent, and believe in the Gospel" or the dictum "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return."
