Pizzas and Elves!!

Image
This week we explored the letter E and L. The character for E was Edgar the Elf, and with Christmas being right around the corner, I decided to turn ourselves into elves! They turned out adorable and they all loved seeing their faces on an elf body!! On Friday we finished up our healthy eating unit by making pizzas!! It was so much fun and the students were SO excited to eat pizza for snack!! We talked about how we needed to divide our 2 large pizzas into 8 slices to have enough for everyone (Math!!). We talked about the ingredients we would be putting on the pizza and how it is OK if you don't like something, and sometimes it is fun to try new things! I was impressed that many of them decided to try new things like mushrooms and olives, even if they picked them off:)

Library visit and Winter trees

Image
Students enjoyed meeting Carlene from the library. They listened to several stories about winter coming. We then talked about what it starts looking like outside when winter is here. They responded right away that the trees lose their leaves. We made some beautiful winter trees by using black paint and making a tree trunk and branches, and then using their pointer finger dipped in white paint to create snow on the branches. They all turned out so unique, and beautiful! Students also enjoyed getting ready for pizza making by making "paper pizzas" with their buddies, and choosing what ingredients they would like on their pizza! See below the variety of different pizzas! Looking forward to making real pizzas on Friday!

Halloween Fun!!
