Gingerbread Cookies

Thank you to a parent for sending me all these photos!! Thank you once again to the parents who brought in the cookies and icing! Judging by all these smiles it sure looks like everyone enjoyed decorating gingerbread cookies!!

Greenland Garden Centre

Spending the morning at Greenland garden center was a wonderful way to spend the morning! We lucked out with the weather and it wasn't too chilly! We started the morning with a bumpy ride on the trailer sled!! The kids loved it and we were able to stop in front of some beautiful spruce trees for a class picture! We went into the greenhouse that stores all the Christmas trees! This may have been their favorite part of the morning as they got to play hide and seek in amongst the trees and look for Christmas decorations hiding in the trees! So much FUN!! We then went inside where we planted our paper white flowers. The students all put their hands up and made a pledge that they would water and take care of their flowers. They need to be squishy to touch, but not too wet and if it feels fluffy-it needs water. I hope they all flourish and you have beautiful flowers to admire in your homes! Edgar the Elf and Snowmen

We got right into the swing of December in kindergarten! On Monday, students found a little elf friend in our classroom. With him was an Elf book that we read. As the book said, we needed to decide on a name for our elf. I loved hearing all their creative choices. We voted, and the majority (13 students), voted on Edgar. This was the name of the Elf we met last week in our animated literacy resource. Edgar will fly back to the North Pole every night, and come back to our classroom every day where he will find a new place to hide. The students really enjoyed coming in each day this week to look for our elf friend. I am also loving hearing about all of their elfs at home! The spirit of Christmas is so alive in all their hearts. It really is a magical time, and I am blessed to share it with all of them! A new month, also meant a new centre! The Santa’s workshop has been a favourite!! Students are loving putting on their elf aprons and getting to work with Christmas cards, taking calls ...
