Fitness frenzy and Valentine’s Day!!

Our fitness frenzy field trip was a great way to get the kids moving, especially on such a cold week! They had to really cooperate and work together for many of the activities. Hibernation Day!

We had a fun month learning about hibernation. Students learned that quite a few animals hibernate, including snakes, and bats! Students learned why animals hibernate, and where and how they make their winter homes. We concluded our hibernation unit by having a fun in class hibernation day complete with PJ’s, and bear headbands! Students searched for food around the classroom when it was “spring”. During the “winter” they knew to find a warm den to “hibernate”. They had so much fun searching for all the foods bears like! Fish (goldfish), honey (honey but cherries), and berries (raisins). Students also made bear dens out of marshmallows and toothpicks!
