Sherwood Park Museum

What a fun morning learning about how people before us lived. We started the morning listening to a story. The story was interactive and students had to use big loud animal voices to communicate with the owl. We then got into our groups and toured 4 different areas in the museum. The first area was an old one room school house. Students sat in old desks and listened to an older gentleman who went to school in a one room school house that housed grades 1-9. He shared with the students stories about walking to school (uphill both ways), and how all the students had to work together. The older kids would help the younger ones and the class really became like a family. The second area of the museum that we toured was room with a beautiful painted mural that wrapped around the entire room. The mural told the story of indigenous people who lived off the land. Food, medicine, clothing and housing came from their land and how they had to be resourceful. The third...
